Following the previous release "Metamorphosen" (RCHSA5292/CHSA5292) with its graceful string sound, the third release in 2022 is a collection of orchestral works by John Iceland, a composer who has left his mark on the history of British music from the late 19th to 20th centuries! Known as Britten's teacher, John Ierland was a composer who left many small to medium-sized works, especially in the fields of chamber music, piano music, and songs. His unique style, which has been called "British Impressionist Music," was inspired by the classical German language, the Impressionist influences of Debussy and Ravel, and the scenery of the Channel Islands, which he often visited. It is still loved by the people of the United Kingdom.John Wilson also led the Halle Orchestra in recording Ierland's orchestral works in 2007 (Halle, CDHLL7523), but with the further development of John Wilson himself and the fluid sound of the Sinfonia of London, this recording is sure to be even more quintessential of Ierland's The recording is a true taste of Ierlund's work.
