Vol. 3 is Symphony No. 1 & Symphony No. 5! Nämé Järvi is the elder of the Järvi family, a musical family in Estonia. Following "Halvorsen" and "Svensen" with Norway's Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Sweden's "Kut Atterberg (1887-1974)" is off to a great start as a new series of "Scandinavian Project". The third Atterberg collection by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, which holds the title of The National Orchestra of Sweden, and Nämé Järvi is "Symphony No. 1" and "Symphony No. 5"! Atterberg had many faces: composer, cellist, critic, electrical engineer, employee of the patent office in Stockholm, president of the Swedish Society of Composers and the Swedish Copyright Society.The first symphony, but already highly accomplished, was composed between 1909 and 1911, while he was studying electrical engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden and composition and orchestration at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Stockholm, where he also made his conducting debut. The Fifth Symphony, composed between 1917 and 1922 and revised 25 years later in 1947, is subtitled "Funeral Symphony" and is a dramatic and melancholy work, including the tragic second movement. The renowned duo of Nämé Järvi and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra will give us a new Atterberg with passion and sharp interpretation! Tokyo M-Plus
