Rare Orchestra fans rejoice! 20th century British female composer, Ruth Gipps! Ramon Gamba, one of the core conductors of Chandos, has made a name for himself with his recordings of the Chandos Moveis and other orchestral works by Vincent d'Indy, Miklos Rosa, Malcolm Williamson, Dirg Vilaine, and many others. Gamba and the prestigious Welsh orchestra, which has gained popularity with albums of unique projects such as "British Sound Poems" and "Overtures from the British Isles," have made a new recording of orchestral works by the 20th century British female composer, Ruth Gipps! Ruth Gipps (1921-1999) studied at the Royal College of Music and Durham University, where she studied with Gordon Jacob and Rafe Vaughan Williams. He was a virtuoso on piano and oboe, and after the age of 33, due to a hand injury, he devoted himself to composing and conducting. He has left a solid mark on the history of British music by demonstrating a strong individuality in the then still male-dominated music world. Except for "Symphony No. 2" (a one-movement work inspired by World War II), which is Gips' masterpiece, three of his works have been recorded for the first time in the world. Tokyo M-Plus
