He received his Bachelors degree in 2022 from the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he studied with Gary Graffman, famous teacher of Yuja Wang and Lan Lan, and Robert McDonald, teacher of Eric Lu and Lee Teckchi. Wei Luo has already been noticed as a promising pianist of the next generation in China, with his name on Steinway Artists and an album to be released on the Decca Gold label in 2019 In Wei Luo's latest recording, recorded in 2023 at the China National Grand Theatre, he is a member of the Chinese National Academy of Music, five leading Western musicians express their gaze on the vast world of the East. The gaze of these great composers is captured in a lingering early morning in a Chinese garden, a stroll through a Moorish palace, the passage of a busy harbor, a trip to Moon River Bay, the majestic Caucasus Mountains, and other beautiful ancient landscapes of the Orient, exotic cultures, and a longing for the aesthetics of the Orient.The beauty of the contrast between the silence and bustle of the Orient expressed by Wei Luo through the works of five composers will lead the listener into the heart of a mysterious world and unfold the ancient landscapes of the Orient before his eyes.
