AURORA CLARA, a Madrid, Spain-based jazz fusion band led by Finnish-born Raul Mannola (g), who also produces for the band, is now also available on LP on their 4th album from '24! While the previous album was full of acoustic brilliance that seemed to convey the sunlight of the Mediterranean Sea with a Latin flavor, this album deliberately leans toward a fusion/crossover style with a hard touch, and the contents are very boldly arranged and developed compared to the previous albums. The arrangements and development of the music are very bold compared to the previous works, and the contents are very engaging.The flowing conception and soloing are typical of European music, with rough, cutting guitars reminiscent of John McLaughlin and flutes that bring a progressive rock dreaminess to the forefront, while technical up-and-down movement in unison phrases are also incorporated as accents. The Last Candle" and "Five Sisters," a jazz funk number that brings a strong groove with its smooth drumming and bass/percussions, are at the top of the list. The album is a high quality and technical jazz fusion sound with a touch of Euro/Latin jazz, a unique evolution of MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA.
