Paavo Järvi and the Deutsche Kammerphil continue to produce some of the most exciting music as of 2017. The duo first performed together in 1995. And it was in 2014 that Pervo took over as Artistic Director. In the more than 10 years since then, they have recorded the complete symphonies by Beethoven and Schumann, which have been described as "the world's greatest Beethoven" and "a musical experience that will last a lifetime," shocking and inspiring not only Japan but also the entire world. The Brahms Project" is a new project they are working on as of 2017. This project, which reexamines Brahms, the essence of German Romanticism, from a new angle, was launched in earnest with a performance of the complete works at Tokyo Opera City in December 2014, and has received rave reviews around the world. In parallel, the first of a four-disc series of four symphonies, two serenades, and major orchestral works is now available. It includes the Symphony No. 2 in the glorious key of D major and two contrasting overtures, one tragic and the other a university celebration. The recording venue has been moved to the historic Wiesbaden Hall for this new recording. Sony Music
