Clinic, a mutant UK indie-rock band with a history ranging from tour support for Radiohead to a Grammy nomination, has released their latest album on Domino! Clinic, an indie rock band from Liverpool, England, has been selected as a support act for Radiohead and has co-written with Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never), and has been supported by many important artists in the scene, and has even been nominated for a Grammy Award. Their eleventh studio album, "Fantasy Island", also released on Domino, is a tropical escape, as evoked by the title and artwork, as well as their most electronic sound to date. It is also the most electronic sounding and the most pop album to date.The band has explored themes of time, music, and entertainment by consulting books such as H.G. Wells' "Things to Come," Marshall McLuhan's "The Medium is the Massage," and Richard Brautigan's "Sombrero Fallout. The result is a work that is musically diverse, yet has a balance that only Clinic can achieve: 80s pop, funky disco, cosmic, acid synth, blues, and more. Mixing is done by Claudius Mittendorfer, who also works with Parquet Courts and Neon Indian.
