Zimmermann, who has been at the forefront of international recording since his late teens, performs and records a very wide range of repertoire from baroque to contemporary music.This set features a collection of the best Beethoven (2002/live), Mozart (2014 & 2015/session), and J.S. Bach (2017/session) concerto recordings from this century. The violin is Zimmermann's beloved 1711 Stradivarius "Lady Inchiquin". This instrument was once owned by Kreisler and has a velvety tone. Please enjoy the performance on Zimmermann's beloved instrument, which has been with him for many years. This is Zimmermann's second recording of Mozart's violin concertos. The first collection includes Nos. 1, 3, and 4, Adagio in E major, and Rondo in C major, and the second collection includes Nos. 2 and 5 "Turkish Style" and the Concerto Symphony. The second recording in 2014/2015 is with the Chamber Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio, conducted by Radoslaw Sulk. Radoslaw Sulcu, a Polish-born violinist and concert master of the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, conducts this recording, which has been highly acclaimed by various magazines, including Record Art magazine's "Special Recording" for its performance of not only the perfect ensemble but especially the beauty of the string music. The viola player for the Concerto Symphony is Antoine Tamestit. Zimmermann, who had been looking for the best ensemble player for many years, was so impressed when he attended one of Tammesti's concerts and was so enchanted by his tone that he personally asked him to form a trio after the performance. The Trio Zimmermann, formed in 2007, is now one of the top string trios in the world. The Trio Zimmermann is now one of the world's top string trios. The second recording of J.S. Bach's Violin Concerto. In 2017, after 30 years since his first recording with the English Chamber Orchestra in 1988 under the direction of Jeffrey Tate, J. S. Bach recorded his second J. S. Bach Violin Concerto with the English Chamber Orchestra. This is his second recording of J.S. Bach's concertos, and the first with his son Serge. The recording was notable not for the famous Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, BWV 1043, but for a two-violin version of the Concerto for Oboe and Violin in D minor, BWV 1060. The missing Violin Concerto in D minor, BWV1052, was also Zimmermann's first recording. This concerto, with its intricate, undulating unison theme, is said to be the original of the famous Keyboard Concerto No. 1 in D minor, BWV 1052, for harpsichord, for which there is a complete autograph score. Immediately after the theme, a dashing solo violin appears. The solo part is fantastically and richly developed, and Schumann praised it as "one of his greatest masterpieces. The Berlin Baroque Soloists were formed in 1995 by the principal players of the Berlin Philharmonic. Live recording of Beethoven conducted by Haitink. This is a live recording of the first day of the September 2002 concert marking Bernard Haitink's appointment as principal conductor of the Staatskapelle Dresden. The concert was held at the Palace of Culture in Dresden, as the Semperoper was flooded and unusable due to the flooding that hit Dresden that summer, and the concert was dedicated to the victims. Frank Peter Zimmermann is at his best in Beethoven.The best known recordings are Jeffrey Tate, conductor, English Chamber Orchestra (1987/session) and Daniel Harding, conductor, Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra (2019/live) (KKC-9695/7), but the 2002 live performance also wowed audiences with its excellent performance! The 2002 live performance was also a great success. Zimmermann has played with various cadenzas, but in this live performance, he played his own composition in the first movement. Inspired by the famous cadenzas of his predecessors, Zimmermann's work is a concentrated work of beauty and skill on the violin. (King International)
