Zubin Mehta Celebrates 85th Birthday with DVD set of his retirement concert from the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, which was released for the first time! Although there was no audience that day, a concert to celebrate his 85th birthday was held at the Staatsoper Berlin, and he continues to conduct passionately despite his advancing age. DVD 1 is a performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Zubin Mehta was selected as the music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic (1962-1978) at an unusually young age, and signed an exclusive contract with Decca, where he has made a name for himself around the world with his dynamic conducting and his armies, releasing a succession of highly acclaimed albums of Stravinsky, Holst, and other composers. This live video shows the studio recording of the concert. In this live video, he gives his best performance, including Bartók and Dvo8, both of which are well-known in studio recordings. The most appealing thing about Mehta's music at this time was his unwavering and decisive approach, and it was even painful. Finally, the retirement concert of the long-time music director of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in October 2019 is recorded for the first time on video.
