World-renowned pianist Maria João Pires, born in Lisbon, Portugal, finally appears on ONYX! The first release is a very powerful Beethoven concerto with Daniel Harding and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra! In recent years, Beethoven's concertos have often appeared on Piris's concert programs. Although Piris has recorded many masterpieces, this is his first recording of Beethoven's concertos (the sonatas were recorded with Dumay).Beethoven's Piano Concertos Nos. 3 and 4 were recorded directly into the studio after a concert in Stockholm in October 2013.
