Aspromonte delivers these dramatically expressive cantatas, each with its own elaborate flavor, with outstanding emotional expression and her own plaintive, beautiful voice. The instrumental performance by Arsenale Sonoro, in which Begelmann takes the solo, also shows strong expression at times, while at the same time remaining close to the singer's emotions. Especially in HWV 132b, the obbligato instrument is usually the oboe, but here Begelman plays it on the violin, giving us an expressive performance as if he were singing a duet with Aspromonte. Also not to be missed is the fact that the final track contains the aria "My suffering will one day fill me" HWV 223, which was recorded for the first time in the world. Composed between 1738 and 1741, unlike the cantatas, it is a relatively late work, and its sunny atmosphere and technical aria is a fitting conclusion to this Handel album on the theme of "love.Francesca Aspromonte is a talented young soprano who, in her twenties, has sung in the world's major halls, including Carnegie Hall, and has earned the trust of up-and-coming conductors such as Enrico Onofri, Diego Fazolis and Raphael Pichon. Pentatone has already released two albums on the label, Prologue and The Virgin Mary, both of which are based on the same album concept.
