Marianna Privalska was born in 1982 and began piano lessons at the age of six, making her debut at the age of nine. 1992 she moved to Spain with her family to study piano at the Escuela de Musica de La Coruña. In 2011, she won the first prize at the Jaen International Piano Competition in Spain, where she also released a recital album on NAXOS (8.573031). In 2012, she won the gold medal at the Cincinnati International Piano Competition, which led to the release of this album. She plays two Rachmaninoff works at length. Naxos Japan
