This performance of the "German Requiem" is known for its extremely straightforward approach, presenting Brahms' masterpiece, full of sorrow and tension, as harsh yet warm music. In addition to the expressiveness of the two soloists, the Leipzig Radio Choir's highly accurate ensemble and correct German pronunciation, as if they were chewing every word, are also highly praised.
