The Flatlanders, a super-group formed in the early 1970s by Joe Illie, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Butch Hancock, Texas' most talented singer/songwriters and musicians who have collaborated occasionally over the past 50 years, released a fantastic first ST in 1973. album on one disc for the first time! Recorded in 1972 and scheduled for release the following year, "All American Music" was put on hold with the exception of a few 8-track releases, which went unreleased. After that, the material from this album was scattered on several compilations, but now, for the first time, the first album and its surrounding material have been gathered together. Even after more than half a century, their original songs still sound fresh and unique. Although only a few people have heard this album over the years, its sound is like a cornerstone of Americana music.
