The works all have titles, perhaps because the composer was motivated to compose them by what he actually saw and heard.The music is more neoclassical than contemporary and conveys the composer's image well. The result is enjoyable, thanks in part to the quality of the recording. Andrea Casalvios was born in Spain in 1988. He has won numerous international competitions on the cello and has performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. She studied composition with John Corigliano while pursuing her doctorate in New York. He has given master classes at the Juilliard School, University of Southern California, Eastman School of Music, and others, and has participated in many music festivals to teach younger students.
