This album is an ambitious program that brings out the relationship and contrasts between Schubert's three masterpieces for violin and piano, instrumental arrangements of songs, and a new work, "Sommer-abschied," based on a song by pianist Joseph Havlat. Schubert's image, reconstructed in a way that transcends genres, will be freshly revived with a modern sensibility. The performance will be given by the talented duo of Charlotte Salieust-Brideau, a young French-born violinist of note, and Joseph Havlat, a pianist from Australia who also composes music.Sallust-Brideaux won the Grand Prix at the YCAT and Concert Artists Guild international auditions in 2021, was named a Classic FM "Rising Star" in 2022, and made his debut with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in 2023 and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in 2024 and made his debut with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in 2023 and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in 2024. Currently also a new member of the prestigious Chiaroscuro Quartet, he is attracting attention for his solid musicianship and versatile expressiveness, having studied under Alina Ibragimova. Beyond the conventional framework of "Schubert in his later years, conscious of his death," the two present an interpretation that also sheds light on "humor" and "depth in simplicity.
