Gabriele Manca studied piano with Bruno Canino and composition with Giacomo Manzoni at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, and in 1985 was awarded the "New Generation in Europe" prize at the European Music Year organized by the WDR (Cologne), the Venice Biennale and the Festivale d'Automne (Paris). In 2000, Manca was a fellow of the Uchida Foundation and spent several months in Japan, where he composed music for Noh plays at the Noh theatre. In 2001, Manca composed the soundtrack for the Noh film "Rokurobei" directed by Chiseko Tanaka, which was screened at the Bratislava Art Film Festival and the Tokyo Film Festival. This album is Manca's first full-fledged collection of works. Senti Aspetta (Listen and Wait)" is a kind of piano concerto (?) of a little over 40 minutes. The first half of the lengthy piece is a long, uninterrupted piece. The first half of the lengthy piece is a solo piano piece, and the ensemble finally begins to intertwine with it in the middle, forming a tapestry of sound that can be described as a pointillist style. The provocative "Fantastic Crime" is a fine example of the aesthetics of irregularity, with a series of intense, pointillistic sounds, followed by a long silence, and then a chain of sounds begins again.
