Description:
Camillo Cortellini (1561-1630) was a 16th and 17th century Italian composer who also played the cornet and trombone. Cortellini was also a pioneer of the "concerto mass" form, and the Gloria from the "Mass of St. Carlo" features concerto-style passages with soprano and brass instruments. Cortellini's masses, and his complete recordings, are extremely rare. It will be an important source for understanding church music and concerto masses of the time. Tokyo M-Plus
