The Italian Baroque composer and violinist Martino Bitti has been forgotten in the fringes of music history until recently, but thanks to the work of British musicologist Michael Talbot (Tallbutt) and others, his works have recently begun to be the subject of detailed research, musical analysis, and cataloging. The recorder sonatas. As one of the musicians of the post-Corelli era, Bitti received his musical training in Venice from Giovanni Battista Vivaldi (Antonio's father), and from 1688 to his later years he served the Grand Duke of Tuscany in Florence as court violinist and other positions.
