It features two tracks that he himself describes as "the best beats of my lifetime," one lush and glossy, the other hard-hitting and intense. Reimagining classics such as D.I.T.C.'s "Day One" and Souls Of Mischief's "93 'Til Infinity" comes with great responsibility. The weight that went into this work was immense, and the time and energy that went into deconstructing, reconstructing, and recording it was by no means trivial. Every element has been handled with care and respect for these enduring original works. Reid is an innovative jazz musician who combines expansive Post-Bop improvisation with contemporary atmospheric jazz.He released his first two albums on the prestigious Concord label and has since teamed up with Fat Beats to continue creating progressive tributes to the Hip-Hop albums that shaped his youth.
