Bach’s “Goldberg Variations” (String Trio Arrangement / CAP21695), released in 2004, won a Swedish Grammy Award and even spawned a video release, garnering attention worldwide. The ensemble behind this success—Trio Siliaks, Pation, and Laitinen—is comprised of Swedish female musicians. Their first new recording since the Bach album is Mozart’s late masterpiece, the “Divertimento, K. 563.” Composed at the request of Pufberg—a fellow Freemason and patron—"Divertimento in E-flat Major, K. 563" is the only one among Mozart’s many divertimentos written for string trio. Although there are already many renowned performances of this “E-flat Major, K. 563,” this new recording, born in Sweden, possesses the quality and value to take its place among the library of classic recordings.
