The program includes Schumann's Children's Scenes, Liszt's Ballade No. 2, Janacek's Piano Sonata No. 1 "On the Streets, October 1, 1905," and Brahms's Three Interludes. While many young pianists are pushing their technique to the fore, Hao Cheng Chang has already spun mature music. Janacek's Piano Sonata is a memorial work for a worker who was killed in a demonstration for the establishment of a university for Czechs, and October 1 is the date.This selection of poetic expression and outstanding Hao Cheng Chang's unique musicality is proof of a young but already mature musicality, and was performed in Japan in June 2015 to great acclaim.
