Blu&Exile’s fifth studio album, *Time Heals Everything*, is a work that proves the duo—formed in 2007—can still make the chemistry they’ve cultivated over nearly 20 years feel fresh. Set for release in May 2026, this album follows their 2024 release *Love(the)OminousWorld* and features 10 tracks that further push the boundaries of their signature soul-infused sound, sharp lyrics, and adventurous production—all executed with effortless ease. Featuring guest appearances by RomeStreetz, ICECOLDBISHOP, Fashawn, BlackThought, MachHommy, and Saba, the album also features powerful backing vocals from Voices of Creation toward the end. The album opens with “Soul Unusual.” This is a declarative track that carries on the lineage of “Soul Provider” and “Soul Amazing” while redefining them from Blu’s current perspective. Blu comments, “The word ‘special’ comes to mind. It’s my take on those songs from my current perspective.” According to Exile, the track went through multiple versions before completion; initially, Blu had recorded it over a different beat, but it truly came into its own after Exile reworked the beat. “The moment we changed the beat, everything clicked. The resonance of his words sounded completely different,” he says, noting that this commitment to pursuing the best possible form defines the tone of the entire album. That creative restlessness runs through Exile’s entire production and is particularly evident in the beat changes that flip the energy midway through the tracks. “TheBag” begins with a lush, guitar-driven groove that evokes a pop-rap-style atmosphere of money worship, but Blu and Exile flip that on its head, transforming it into a warning that depicts the evil of money and its power to drive people to the brink. Similar sudden shifts can be seen in “T.S.O.D.” and “IDon’tRhyme,” where changes in texture ensure the tracks continue to evolve rather than remaining mere loops. On “Crumbs,” featuring RomeStreetz and ICECOLDBISHOP, they adopt a style reminiscent of their golden era to deliver a scathing critique of the “crumbs” that corrupt powers force upon the masses. “InMyWindow” serves as the emotional centerpiece of the album; while Blu lays bare his pain, TOBi’s hook provides what he calls “healing.” On “T.S.O.D.,” the legendary Black Thought and the sharp, elusive MachHommy create a moment of profound depth. And the closing track, “T.H.E.,” broadens the perspective even further, with the contemplative rapper Saba and the choir Voices of Creation presenting a final statement centered on the themes of conviction, endurance, and restoration. *Time Heals Everything* is a work that demonstrates how Blu & Exile continue to move forward while paying homage to their roots, proving once again that soul and risk-taking can coexist.
