Produced by Adrian Sherwood, this cult classic 1982 post-punk x dub album is being reissued on vinyl! Bruce Smith, known as the (former) husband of Neneh Cherry and the drummer for the Pop Group, is a pivotal figure in the UK dub scene. He was also a member of the New Age Steppers, played a central role in the ON-U Sound, and formed Rip Rig & Panic. This album is a project he spearheaded, recorded in 1982—the same year as Rip Rig & Panic—and produced by ON-U Sound’s leader, Adrian Sherwood. The sound, which feels like a more chaotic and punk-infused version of the New Age Steppers, still sounds fresh today. The backing musicians include a lineup of seasoned pros led by Style Scott, known for his work with Creation Level and the New Age Steppers. In addition to the nine original tracks, two bonus tracks have been added! (From the manufacturer’s information)
