The album is inspired by Kobayashi Issa's poem "This dewdrop world" / Is a dewdrop world, / And yet, and yet.... There, in the dark and fragile world, "and yet..." The spirit of Issa Kobayashi is present in the poem, "And yet, and yet...", which is a poem about the spirit of Issa Kobayashi. It is about turning despair into gratitude, hurt into forgiveness, and sorrow into praise," Banhart ruminates.
