Gabe Guernsey, drummer for London minimal rock trio Factory Floor, releases his debut solo album "Physical" on Erol Alkan's label! In 2013, when he remixed Daniel Avery's acclaimed debut album "Drone Logic", he met Erol in the studio and signed him to the label. Even before the album's release, Gabe has already been selected to support Nine Inch Nails on their US tour in October 2018 and is highly sought after as a solo artist! This album is a complete departure from Factory Floor, and Gabe says, "It's a real departure from Factory Floor. What I wanted to do with this album was to explore songwriting and structure more. I'm not trying to escape the factory floor, but this album is very escapist in a way. I thought that personal projects should be considered separately from the factory floor, and with this album I should explore new avenues.This album is a story, a series of events from the beginning to the end of a night out, including "getting ready to go out, driving to town, arriving at the club, being on the dance floor, smoking outside, going home early in the morning," etc. Balearic synth pop, EBM, funk reminiscent of early Hacienda, Chicago house, minimal, and The Neptunes-style beats can all be heard on this one album. This album is a celebration of dance music!
