After 25 years, FIRST HAND RECORDS has commercialized a CD of recordings made in 2000 and 2001, but which could not be released due to the bankruptcy of the company that was supposed to release them.
This Bartók album uses the version revised and arranged by Peter (Peter) Bartók (1924-2020), Bartók's second son, who was well known as a recording engineer with a deep understanding of his father's music. The revised version of the Viola Concerto is a more effective and powerful work than the original version, and we are convinced that it is definitely closer to Bartók's intentions. The duo works are also a joy to play and listen to, with wonderful arrangements by Peter Bartók." said viola player Paul Neubauer. This is a disc that will immerse you in Bartók's music.
