Description:

2024 repress! The very rare and very popular album by , a female singer who sang with a powerful voice backed by a jazzy performance that symbolized the golden age of Brazilian music in the early 70's, left on the CID label in 1971 is finally being reissued on vinyl for the first time! With a swinging sensation reminiscent of Elis Regina and a soulful voice that reminded many of Elsa Soares, Zilla was supposed to have a brilliant career in the world of Brazilian music, but she sadly passed away in a car accident soon after recording this album.Although there is very little information about her, it is easy to imagine that she had a promising future, as she was backed by Arnoldo Medeiros, who commented on this work, and top musicians of the time, such as Durval Feheira and Os Grillos. It is easy to imagine that she had a bright future ahead of her. Starting with the jazzy track "Inêz," which starts with a drum break, the album features Ivan Lins' classic "Madelena," which is also sung by Elis Regina, the bossa classic "O Morro Não Tem Vez" by Jobim & Vinicius, "Como É Que É Bicho?" and "Festa Para Um Rei Negro" with a high tempo jazz-bossa-like accompaniment in the background, giving the album a great swinging feel. The high-tempo jazz-bossa accompaniment of "Como É Que É Bicho?" and "Festa Para Um Rei Negro" .... The content, which evokes the richness of Brazilian music from the late 60's to the early 70's and the chaos just before the heyday of MPB, is one word that sums it up in one wonderful word. This is a historical masterpiece that I recommend to DJs, Brazilian music fans, rare groove fans, jazz fans, and many other music fans.
