YOUN SUN NAH is a jazz singer from South Korea now based in France. Her latest album, "ELLES," is a collection of songs by female artists she has loved and been inspired by, revived as new jazz vocal standards with her detailed, jazzy vocals and delicate piano. Born in South Korea and currently based in France, jazz singer YOUN SUN NAH has released numerous albums on the ACT JAZZ label since 1994, and performed the Korean folk song "Arirang" at the closing ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. She has been awarded the Order of Arts and Culture by the French Ministry of Culture in 2019.She moved to Arts Music of Warner Music Group in 2019 and released her first album on the label, "IMMERSION", and has completed a new album. Her latest album, "ELLES," is her first in nearly four years since her last album.As the title of the album suggests, Yoon Sang Na has taken a wide range of female artists from Bjork to Sarah Vaughan, Grace Jones and Roberta Flack, Edith Piaf and Grace Slick, Maria Joan, and many others, transcending time and genres. The album features songs by a wide variety of female artists from all eras and genres, including Maria Joanne.Recorded earlier this year in New York City with pianist John Coward, who has performed with Brian Blade, Cassandra Wilson, and Liz Wright, and producer/musician Tomek Miernowski, "ELLES" includes, ELLES" features the soulful "Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child," the psychedelic rock classic "White Rabbit," the jazz standard "My Funny Valentine," which has been loved and covered by many artists, and "Music Box," a jazz standard that has been performed by many artists. The album also features the jazz standard "My Funny Valentine" and the impressive music box sound of "Killing Me Softly With His Song," both of which have been loved and covered by many artists, as well as many old and new classics written and sung by female artists, with the fine and jazzy vocals of Yoon Sang Na and the delicate piano of John Coward.
