Maria Yudinich, winner of three international competitions (Isay International Music Competition 2021, Tibor Varga International Competition, and Joseph Joachim International Competition), has released her debut album, "Maria Yudinich," which is played with the heart of a song. She studied violin with Shmuel Ashkenazy and Pamela Frank at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and with Miriam Fried at the New England Conservatory in Boston. In this debut disc of Maria Yudinich, she and pianist Kenny Broberg (third prize winner of the 2019 Tchaikovsky Competition) have chosen a lyrical program inspired by song, as the name of the album title suggests.The music of Western European, Russian, and American composers of the 19th and 20th centuries - from Clara Schumann to Fanny Mendelssohn, Nadia Boulanger, and Amy Beach, to arrangements of songs and piano pieces by her native Russian composers Tchaikovsky, Metonel The songs on the album, which includes arrangements from songs and piano pieces by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Glinka, and Schubert's Fantasie, and concludes with Richard Strauss's "Morgen! The songs on the album are all favorites of Yudinich, who loves not only classical music but also jazz and visual art. I'm very drawn to the human voice and have found a lot of inspiration for shaping my own sound... For example, I discovered that I have a lot to learn as an instrumentalist about how sounds relate to each other... I learned through many singers that one pending note can have many different kinds of expression as it rides on different harmonies and then on to the next note... The songs on this album are small, little-known, overlooked or forgotten gems of the past.Some are also arranged, and some are untouched, with only the vocal lines played. But they are very lyrical and fit the program beautifully," he said. Japanese-language commentary is included only for imports handled by Warner Music Japan.
