This album is an attempt to revive the works of women composers who were active in Vienna in the early 1700s. The works, long buried in history, have been restored from scores preserved in the Austrian National Library. Suzanne Jerome will sing solo. She is a talented French soprano who has sung in a wide range of operas from Baroque to contemporary, from "The Crowning of Poppea" to "West Side Story. She studied voice at the Guildhall in London and in Cologne. Halbeck won the first prize in the organ section of the International J.S. Bach Competition in Leipzig in 2004, and founded his own ensemble, Il Gusto Barocco, in 2008. While teaching at the Stuttgart University of Music, he focuses on reviving forgotten Baroque opera.
