Proyecto Brunetti was formed to promote the works and appeal of Gaetano Brunetti. Its founder, cellist Pere-Joan Carrascosa, has done extensive research on Brunetti's life and works and edited this collection of divertimentos for publication. The booklet also includes valuable documents and information about them. This is one of the first pieces you should listen to in order to get to know Brunetti. It is said to have been composed between 1772 and 1774, when he was in the service of the Duke of Asturias in Spain, and is performed by a string trio. All the pieces are in two movements, basically in the form of a sonata or rondo. They are characterized by freshness of melody, creativity of harmony, and a stylish compositional style in which the three parts are treated as equals.
