Amistis, a singing and instrumental ensemble group that explored and recorded the masterpieces of the 16th-century Spanish Golden Age, has been gaining attention since the release of its last album (item no. 95905). Aiming to make the listener aware of polyphony not only in its structural elements, but also in its spiritual elements, the group this time takes up works by composers of the Spanish Renaissance, building a deeper image of a more pious culture. Founder and conductor José Duse Kenol says of the album, "You will experience music that resonates in the space where it was recorded, and you will perceive a spatial and spiritual sensation that goes beyond the music itself." The booklet includes an essay by Kenol on the album's themes and historical background, as well as the sung texts and translated lyrics.
