Mozart's majestic "Requiem" is a masterpiece that no longer needs explanation. One of his last works and a milestone in choral music, this album combines Mozart and Mevlana, a new work by pianist and composer Fazil Say. Mozart's "Requiem" incorporates recent period techniques, minimal vibrato, and a faster tempo to give the work a more dynamic and resolving quality, and the expressive prayers of the four soloists and the Berlin Radio Chorus are superb. Fazil Say's "Mozart and Mevlana" is a tribute to Mozart's "Requiem" and is based on the words of Mevlana Rumi, a 13th century mystic thinker, and incorporates Turkish instruments (ney, kudum), music, and Mozart. The music of Mozart and Turkish instruments (ney, kudum) are also incorporated into the piece. Fazil Sai says the following. 'Mevlana is a great philosopher of the East, of the Eastern world. I am from Turkey. So I thought: "Can't I unite the East and the West in love and friendship, using quotations from the musical genius of Mozart and the words of the great philosopher Mevlana? And. I have played and recorded all of Mozart's piano works. Mozart is a very special part of my life. I think our lives should be dedicated to building bridges of friendship. We should strive to reach out to each other, be friends, and build peace. Mozart's music is the music of humanity.
