Description:

Eric Clapton, the great guitarist/vocalist/composer, stands at the pinnacle of the rock music scene. Nicknamed "Slowhand," Eric Clapton is a super musician who, at 78 years old, is still active at the forefront of his field and continues to have a profound influence on a wide range of musicians. Among his creative activities in various periods of his life, a valuable live archive from the 1970s is being released on CD for the first time. In 1977, the year after the release of "No Reason To Cry," Eric Clapton recorded in England for the first time since "461 Ocean Boulevard" and released his eponymous masterpiece "Slow Hand" in November. The album reached No. 2 on the U.S. album charts and earned a 3x platinum disc, and began a tour of North America in February 1978. The April 5 concert in Springfield, Massachusetts was recorded and broadcast for the popular American music program "The King Biscuit Flower Hour. This is a live album based on the material used for this broadcast, and includes the complete concert, including medleys and encores. The band is backed by Carl Reidl (b), a former member of Derek and the Dominos, George Terry (g) and Jamie Oldaker (ds), who have been with the band since their return album "461 Ocean Boulevard," and Marcy Levy, a talented female vocalist. Clapton's guitar playing was also brilliant. The first half of the concert consisted of songs from his new album "Slowhand," while the second half featured blues covers and hit songs such as "Badge," "Let It Rain," and "Layla. This is a must-have live album for fans of Clapton's music, as it features a set list that can be said to be his best during this period of his career.
