Ronnie James Dio, a member of the Metal Gods, led Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell, and his own band Dio, and was active at the forefront of the HM/HR scene, but died of stomach cancer on May 16, 2010. After leaving Black Sabbath in 1982, Ronnie James Dio formed his own band, Dio, and released their debut album "Holy Diver" in May 1983. The band toured Europe and North America to promote the album. The December 4, 1983 performance in the Netherlands was recorded for promotional purposes and broadcast on radio stations throughout Europe. This live album is a complete recording of the concert, including the drum solo and two encores. The set list includes songs from Rainbow and Black Sabbath, as the tour took place right after the release of the band's debut album.This is a rare live performance of the early Dio, featuring the dramatic vocals of young Ronnie James Dio, the sensitive guitar playing of Vivian Campbell of the current Def Leppard, and the powerful rhythm section of Jimmy Bain & Vinnie Appice.
