With super rock guitarist Eddie Van Halen, Van Halen made a sensational debut in 1978 and quickly rose to the top of the American hard rock band scene. The band overcame various problems, including a change in vocalists and the departure of original member Michael Anthony, but ceased operations in 2006. However, in 2011, Van Halen resumed their activities, released a new album, and toured extensively, showing that they are still going strong. Van Halen reached the pinnacle of American hard rock with the release of their 1984 album, and all of their subsequent albums reached No. 1 on the U.S. album charts. The band's 1995 release "The Balance" was equally successful, and the band embarked on a massive world tour, including Japan, called "The Balance Tour. The concert in Toronto, Canada on August 19 was recorded for television broadcast and live video productions. However, the concert was put on hold due to Sammy Hagar's departure from the band after the tour. The long-awaited CD release of the concert is now being made possible by the discovery of the audio master for the TV broadcast.This is an extremely valuable live album as the last record by the four members, not to mention the great mature performance by this lineup!
