Commemorative CD for his visit to Japan! Amaro Freitas, a jazz pianist from Recife in northeastern Brazil, has been acclaimed worldwide for his "astonishingly unique approach to the keyboard" (Downbeat). This is a great masterpiece of Brazilian piano trio music, which combines his own piano trio, traditional Brazilian rhythms, and the fervor of bebop. Sangue Negro" translates directly as "Negro Blood. According to a previous interview, the title track, which is played in bebop, "expresses the busy (hectic) life we live in this country. It's a feeling that makes our bodies feel hot and tight. In Brazil, we have the highest mortality rate for young people who have black bodies, black blood. By bringing in bebop references here, I express my admiration and reverence for the blood of black people in Brazil," he said. At the same time, the rhythms of traditional Brazilian music such as samba, flavo, and maracatu are used throughout the other songs, making this album a perfect blend of classical jazz and Brazilian elements.Although this is his debut album, his unique piano playing is already at the stage of perfection, where the lineage of bossa nova and samba jazz of Don Salvador and Johnny Alf coexists with the approach of contemporary jazz geniuses such as Vijay Iyer and Craig Taborn, and he has been working with his own trio and guests for many years. The ensemble with his trio and guests, with whom he has worked for many years, is dense. The Brazilian CD was already difficult to obtain, so the Japanese CD release of this album is much-anticipated. The Japanese CD release is a long-awaited release, and will be released in an alternative design that differs from the Brazilian CD.
