Picaresque of Bremen" is the memorable first album of a progressive hard rock band from Iwate Prefecture, known as "Ehartove", which was born in 1984 before the boom of self-produced albums in Japan. Leader Tochizawa's multiple talents on vocals, bass, drums, and violin, along with a clarinet-cum-keyboardist and guitarist, made this atypical rock band stand out as a battle-tested progressive hard, completely different from the symphonic rock of the time. The weeping vocals are reminiscent of David Surkamp of Pavlovs Dog. Eerily lurching violins. The first ever paper jacket CD of this now hard-to-find album, which sold out 1,000 copies at the time, has finally been released! Included is a live take of the previously unreleased song "Circus" from the band's first recording, which was recorded only twice!
