Eren, who has transformed into a Titan, seals the destroyed door and saves the people. However, the people's reaction to him afterwards was mixed: those who lived inside the wall feared him as a demon who would lead them to destruction, while those who went outside praised him as a savior who would lead them to hope. In the midst of all this, the Military Police and the Scout Regiment both came forward to take Eren in. While the intentions of each corps are mixed, the central government decides to deliberate on which side to hand Eren over to. As a result, Eren is accepted into the Scout Regiment and assigned to the Special Operations Group, known as the "Levi Unit," which is made up of an elite group of unique individuals.
