The album features works by Vivaldi, the composer most closely associated with Venice, including the world premiere recording of his Overture by Veracini, which is thought to have been composed there in 1716, when the Elector of Saxony visited Venice, as well as works by Venetian nobleman and composer Benedetto Marcello ( brother of Alessandro Marcello), and a violin concerto by Benedetto Marcello, a Venetian nobleman and composer. Manuscripts of these two works are in the library of the Venice Conservatory (also known as the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory).With this recording, Ukrainian-born Vadim Makarenko and his ensemble, Infermi d'Amore, whose work focuses on the interpretation of 17th- and 18th-century Venetian and Neapolitan music, want to pay homage to the "lost" works that were left unfinished or brought to Venice by accident With this recording, Infelmi d'Amore wants to pay homage to the vague, ephemeral, elusive expressiveness and the "joy of discovery" of Baroque music through the "lost" works left unfinished or accidentally brought to Venice.
