Mahler's "Resurrection" by Karchun Wong and Halle Orchestra!
Karthun Wong is one of the most dominant conductors of his generation. While promoting the "Mahler Series" with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra as Chief Conductor, he will release a live recording of Mahler's "Resurrection" performed with the Halle Orchestra in England, where he also serves as Chief Conductor! The performance of "Resurrection" with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra in March 2025 was a great success, and the performance with the Halle Orchestra took place two months earlier, in January 2025. The high affinity between Karthun Wong and Mahler is already widely known in Japan, so this is one piece that will inevitably be talked about. The Halle Orchestra, which gave the British premiere of Symphony No. 9 and has since established a tradition of Mahler performance under conductors such as Barbirolli, Stenz, and Elder, thrilled the packed audience to rapturous applause, and we look forward to a critically acclaimed performance of its best work. A special SONY DADC pressing will be produced exclusively for Japan and will include a Japanese translation of the commentary as well as a newly written commentary by Atsushi Suzuki.
