Description:

Project for the 100th anniversary of Faure's death! French Radio Philharmonic Orchestra's Compass, Ji Yoon Park! Indesens Calliope Records is proud to announce the 100th anniversary project of Faure's death! Pianist Laurent Vagshal, who has produced a series of masterpieces of French music and is highly acclaimed by the media, and Ji Yoon Park, concertmaster of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, have teamed up to present a complete collection of violin works. Gabriel Fauré was a leading figure in the French chamber music revival, and his bold and expressive works have influenced many composers. His Sonata No. 1 was innovative and acclaimed by many critics, and his Sonata No. 2, written during the war years, demonstrates Fauré's creative genius and stylistic evolution. Through this album, the audience is once again treated to the emotional depth and harmonic richness of the great French composer.Passionate in his interpretation of French music and an ardent defender of forgotten composers, Laurent Vagshal has recorded Saint-Saëns, Fauré, Franck, Chausson, Debussy, as well as Magnard, Ducasse, Pierné, Capré, Gaubert, Florent Schmidt, Vierne, Maurice Emmanuel, Jean Clas, and Francais, among others, and his discography has been praised by media such as Diapason, Classica, Gramophone, and The Guardian. 1985, Korea. native, Park Ji-yun is internationally recognized as one of Korea's leading violinists, serving as concertmaster of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France since 2018.She studied under Roland Degaleuil at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris and Igor Ozim, Jean-Jacques Kantorov, and Itamar Golan at the Mozarteum Conservatory in Salzburg. She has won first prize at the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition in 2004, fourth prize at the Ron Thibaud International Violin Competition in 2005, and was a finalist at the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in 2009.
