Julius Zeman & Shun Ooi have made the world premiere recording of Bruckner's Symphony No. 7 in a two-piano version by Hermann Behn, a German musician known for his arrangements of Mahler's symphonies and Wagner's musical dramas for two pianos. Hermann Behn studied composition with Bruckner, and it is believed that this arrangement was written at the suggestion and with the approval of Bruckner himself. The piano's clear yet powerful and rich sound makes this large, complex music clearer and more accessible to a wide range of listeners. Shun Oi studied piano, ancient music, and conducting in Paris, Munich, and Salzburg, and is active in many fields, writing as well as performing.He is a popular musician well known for his appearances on TV Asahi's "Untitled Concert". Julius Zeman is a pianist, organist, and conductor born in Vienna in 1998. He met Shun Oi in 2018 at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg, where they have performed many symphonic works together on two pianos, rediscovering familiar works from a different perspective. The recording was made on a Bösendorfer piano, which Bruckner himself used to compose on.
