Dr. Frankenstein was obsessed with his ambition to solve the mysteries of life. His "creature" possessed superior intelligence and physical strength. The novel "Frankenstein" was published anonymously in the early 19th century. The writer was Mary Shelley, wife of the poet Percy Shelley. The story was based on a bizarre tale told at Lord Byron's villa, "Diodade Villa," where he and his wife were friends at the time. This aesthetic novel has been the basis for many films and plays, and various forms of twisted love have been described in various ways. Liam Scarlett's ballet "Frankenstein" depicts the anguish, anger, longing, and love of the doctor, the monster, and his wife Elizabeth.Not only was the Royal Ballet's principal dancer Federico Bonelli's wonderful dancing as Dr. Frankenstein praised, but also MacRae's brilliant portrayal of the monster's anguish and vengeance. With its beautifully disorganized apparatus of mysterious machines, retrospective-style costumes, and music reminiscent of a Hollywood movie, this is truly a wonderful stage performance. Naxos Japan
