This is a live recording of the Rome premiere version, a new production of the Donizetti Festival, a joint project of the Donizetti Foundation and the city of Bergamo, Donizetti's birthplace, which was launched in 2015 and has brought an innovative new look to the performance of Donizetti's works. Alessandro Corbelli as Don Giulio and Alex Esposito as Gregorio, the governess, are two of Opera Buffa's leading singers, along with a group of young singers selected from trainees of the "Bottega Donizetti" master classes run by the Donizetti Theater Foundation. The singers, selected from the trainees of the "Bottega Donizetti" master classes run by the Fondazione Donizetti, will sing with vigor and vitality, responding to the music guided by the light and fresh tact of Vincenzo Millettari, a newcomer born in 1990.
