This is a collection of choral works by Minneapolis-based composer Jake Runestad (born 1986-). Renestad, who has received worldwide acclaim for his numerous works in a wide range of genres from orchestral to brass band, has focused particularly on choral works, writing pieces that reflect on social issues such as the natural environment and war. The opening piece, "Secrets of the Sea" (2018), weaves together texts by British poets Whitman and Longfellow, American poet Hilda Doolittle, and the words of the Inuit shaman Uvavnuk, and together with a variety of sea scenes, the piece depicts the relationship between the sea and humans The album includes a strong musical hymn. The album contains a total of 10 pieces, including world premiere recordings, such as "Alleluia," a piece of intense praise music, and the exotic "Sing, Wear the Sky," which is the title of the album.
