Description:
David Gomper (1954-) is an American composer, conductor, and pianist. He studied in London, received his PhD from the University of Michigan, and went to Russia in 2002-2003, where he taught and gave active performances. Upon his return from Russia, he found much inspiration and wrote numerous songs, chamber music, and film music, which have been performed widely throughout Europe as well as in the United States. Included here are four works, mostly violin concertos. The violin concertos were written over a long period of thought, with emphasis on the organization of sound and the dialogue between orchestra and violin.
