Yamato sets off on a journey carrying a man's indomitable fighting spirit! --The year is 2199. The Earth is on the verge of extinction under attack by the mysterious interstellar nation of Gamilas. Radioactive contamination caused by planetary bombs has spread over the entire surface of the earth, and is eating away at the humans who have escaped to underground cities. When the Earth Defense Forces were defeated and all hope was lost, a message arrived from Starsha, Queen of the planet Iscandar, 148,000 light-years away. Iscandar has the Cosmo Cleaner D, a radioactivity removal device that can save the earth from extinction. The message also contained the blueprints for the "Wave Motion Engine," an engine that far surpasses the technological level of mankind! The film is recorded in the frame size of the theatrical release (Vista size).In addition to the feature film, the special "Stasya's Death" footage that was released at the time is reproduced! The original monaural sound of the theatrical release is also included.
