This live recording of the 44th subscription concert of Orchestra Libera Classica (OLC) features Haydn's Symphony No. 4, No. 104 "London", Mozart's Flute Concerto No. 1 and Johann Christian Bach's Flute Concerto with the great master Barthold Kuiken as soloist. It is a full program! Haydn's Symphony No. 4 is an early work characterized by dashing vigor and curious phrasing that seems to show his head on a swivel. On the other hand, Haydn's masterpiece "London" is a product of Haydn's 63rd year. The combination of symphonies in D major from both his early and late periods is also unique to OLC led by Hidemi Suzuki. The two concertos with Barthold Kuiken are also of great interest! Hidemi Suzuki and other OLC members have learned a lot from the Kuiken brothers in various ways. The performance with Bartold Kuiken as soloist is truly moving, and their lively music is full of love and warmth.
